FINAL PROCEDURES AFTER INSTALLATION
Adjust
Check the operation of the throttle
cable.
• Depress the accelerator pedal to the floor two or
three times.
• Hold the pedal to the floor and measure the
clearance between the throttle stop screw (L) and
the return support (M)
• The clearance must be approximately 0.1 mm (.004
in). If not, check the length of the throttle
body
connecting linkage.
• Adjust the link to 139 mm - 141 mm (5.45 - 5.53 in)
as shown.
• If the position of the throttle
stop screw (L) is
accidentally
changed, it can be corrected
by
loosening the adjustment nut (N) and turning the
screw to protrude 1 mm (0.04 in) below the weld
nut.
• Depress the accelerator pedal to the floor and
adj ust the clearance between the throttle
stop
screw (L) and the support (M) for 0.1 mm (0.004
in).
NOTE: Apply
a small
amount
of Loctite@
or
equivalent to the throttle
stop screw before
tightening
the adjustment nut.
• Tighten the adjustment nut
• With the accelerator pedal depressed to the floor,
the return
(compensation)
spring (P) must be
compressed 5 mm (0.19 in). If not, change the
position of the clip
(Q).
NOTE: Ensure that the return spring (P) is correctly
installed.
