Remove and lower the gearbox.
NOTE: Fabricate a "U" bracket (A) to the dimensions
shown at right to support the rear of the
gearbox.
REASSEMBLY
Reassembly can be made easier by using 2 studs
(G) to guide the gearbox into position.
Grease should be smeared on the clutch shaft
splines and planetary gear splines.
_ Make sure that the alignment
dowels (D) are in
place and the starter dowel (5) is also in place
before reinstallation.
Install in reverse order of removal.
Fill both final drive and transmission with the
proper type and level of oil.
Check front wheel and steering wheel alignment
Check clutch operation
IMPORTANT
Make sure safety cable is installed properly and is not
rubbing on power steering lines. Tie up if needed.
