To unlock the front wheels of a 1987-1989 Winnebago LeSharo that won't turn, check the steering wheel lock and alignment. Ensure the steering wheel is in the "steering straight ahead position" with spokes horizontal. If the wheel is locked, try turning the key in the ignition while gently moving the steering wheel side to side. If alignment issues are suspected, inspect the front axle parallelism and toe adjustments. If mechanical issues persist, check the lower suspension arms and steering components for any obstructions or damage.

If there is no hot water in a 1987–1989 Winnebago LeSharo even though the pipes are hot at the outlet, it may indicate that the water is not flowing properly. This could be due to a blockage, a faulty mixing valve, or a problem with the water pump or system pressure. The heat indicates the system is generating hot water, but it is not reaching the faucet or outlet.

A 1987 Winnebago LeSharo running only while the ignition switch is held in the start position could be caused by a faulty ignition switch or a connection issue in the power circuit. Specifically, the "RUN" position in the ignition switch may not be supplying power to essential engine components (such as ignition or fuel systems), while the "START" position does. This may also indicate a problem with wiring, a relay, or a control module that only receives power during cranking.

To fix the steering column locking mechanism on a 1987-1989 Winnebago LeSharo, follow these steps:
1. Check for Sticking or Hard Spots – If the steering column is sticking or has hard spots, it may be due to incorrect plunger adjustment or misaligned steering components.
2. Adjust the Steering Box Plunger – Refer to the JS-S section for proper adjustment.
3. Inspect the Steering Column Assembly – Disconnect the intermediate shaft from the steering box and check if the steering wheel, top shaft, and intermediate shaft turn easily.
4. Lubricate or Replace Bushings – If necessary, withdraw the assembly and lubricate or replace the bushings to ensure smooth movement.
5. Align the Double Universal Joint – Set the front wheels straight and turn the shafts so that the double universal joint pins are at right angles to the intermediate shaft and top shaft.
Following these steps should resolve issues with the steering column locking mechanism.
