ROCKER ARM CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT
(FIRST PROCEDURE)
• Use Tool Mot. 647 to perform the adjustments.
CAUTION

Exhaust
When tightening each adjustment screw (C), ensure
that the bottom of the screw is aligned with the
valve stem (0). If the adjustment screw is not
aligned with the stem when tightened, it can cause
the stem to bend.
• Rotate the crankshaft clockwise until the second
mark on the back side of the camshaft sprocket is
aligned with the index in the rear window.
• Refer to the Rocker Arm Clearance Adjustment
Sequence chart on page 85-3. Continue until all
rocker arm clearances have been adjusted.
