Inspect oil seal fitted in flywheel
housing and the oil seal fitted at the
crankshaft front end for lip wear,
damage, hardening, etc., and replace if
defective.

by separating the crankcase. Reinstal-
lation is performed by using Oil Seal
Installer (499061000).
18. Oil Pump
Wash the disassembled parts, check
them for the following items, and
repair or replace if defective.
1) Oil pump drive gear and rotor
a. Check the outside diameter of the
shaft portion, and replace oil pump
drive gear if worn or damaged
considerably.
