30) Check the clearances 'A' and 'B'
at the end of each rail. If dimensions
'A' and 'B' are not within specifica-
tion, replace rail, fork and set screw so
that specified value is obtained.

31) Position oil seal.
a. When positioning oil seal, fit the oil
seal end surface to the case end
surface

b. When joining case (R.H.) to case
(L.H.), be careful not to let oil seal
tilt.

32) Wipe off grease, oil and dust on
the mating surfaces of transmission
cases with white gasoline, and apply
liquid gasket (Fuji Bond "C" or equiva-
lent), and then put case (R.H.) and
(L.H.) together.
NOTE:
a. Remove the outer race of upper
roller bearing.
b. Put cases togetller so that drive
pinion shim and input shaft holder
shim are not caught up in between.

Confirm tIIat counter gear and
speedometer gear are meshed, and
high-low shifter lever shaft is
inserted perfectly.
d. Apply liquid gasket (Fuii Bond
"c"
or equivalent) with no break in the
middle.
