enable icmp access-list

enable icmp access-list {slot <slot number>}
Description
Re-enables software forwarding of ICMP packets and disables hardware forwarding of ICMP packets at
wire speed on selected models of "i" series switches.
Syntax Description
slot number
Specifies the physical location in the chassis of the module.

Usage Guidelines
Switches capable of hardware ICMP forwarding include the Summit 48si, Alpine 3804 and Alpine 3808,
and BlackDiamond modules MSM-3, G16X3, G24T3, G8Xi, 10GX3 and F48Ti. For further information
regarding specific models and ASIC part numbers, see the Release Notes.
Use this command to re-enable software forwarding and to disable hardware forwarding of ICMP
packets. When ICMP hardware forwarding is used, ICMP access lists are not permitted and ICMP no
longer uses ICMP filter rules.
Example
The following command enables software forwarding of ICMP packets:
enable icmp access-list slot 5

This command was available in ExtremeWare 7.3.0.
Platform Availability
This command is only applicable to selected modules of BlackDiamond, selected models of Alpine, and
the Summit 48si. See the Release Notes for further information regarding the models and applicable
ASIC part numbers.
