Inspect the new control carrier and install CURL [75 small upgrade]

NOTE:
Note
This procedure is for control-carrier replacement upgrades only.

Visually inspect the new carrier for any damage. Verify that the backplane pins are not bent.

Place the enhanced control carrier on the floor so that the rear of the carrier faces up.

Install the 982LS current limiter (CURL) on the A carrier to the pin-field block marked CURL.
The CURL is inserted with the components on the left side as viewed from the rear.

At the rear connector panel, determine which connectors will have a cable attached, and install a
4B cable retainer on each of these connectors.

Unpack the control cabinet and inspect for damage [75 small upgrade]

Unpack the cabinet and remove the front door.

Visually inspect the cabinet for any physical damage caused during shipping.

Report any damage for appropriate action according to local procedures.

Remove all packing material from the cabinet.
