The operation failed because the
specified data volumes were in one of
the following status:
The capacity does not match between
the primary and the secondary data
volumes.
LUSE volume is specified for the
primary and the secondary data
volumes, and the capacity of each
volume combined in LUSE does not
match each other.
The specified capacity of the
secondary data volume is not
supported by the current microcode
version.
Journal volumes cannot be registered
because Continuous Access Journal is
not installed.
Journal volumes cannot be registered
because Continuous Access Journal Z is
not installed.
The use of the specified volume is
prohibited by Volume Security for
Mainframe.
The specified restore journal is not
registered.
The Add Pair (Paircreate) operation
failed due to one of the following
reasons.
The specified restore journal has
already been paired with another
journal.
The combination of the restore journal
and the mirror ID specified when
creating Delta resync volume pairs
has already been used by the
ordinary (not Delta resync) volume
pairs.
The specified secondary data volume
cannot be used because of the following
reasons:
"S-VOL Disable" is set by Data
Retention.
The VMA setting differs between the
primary data volume and the
secondary data volume.
"Protection" is set by Volume
Retention.
Recommended Action
Confirm the following items about the
specified primary data volume and
secondary data volume.
If the capacity of primary data volume
and secondary data volume matches.
In the case of LUSE volume, if the
capacity of each volume combined
in LUSE matches each other.
If the current microcode version
supports the specified data volume
capacity.
Install Continuous Access Journal.
Install Continuous Access Journal Z.
Check the Volume Security for
Mainframe settings on the specified
volume.
Check the status of the specified restore
journal.
Check the mirror status and the mirror
ID of the specified restore journal.
Check the following items on the Data
Retention window if the specified
secondary data volume is an
open-system volume.
Whether "S-VOL Disable" is set to the
specified secondary data volume.
Whether the VMA setting differs
between the primary data volume and
the secondary data volume.
Check whether the Protection attribute is
set on the Volume Retention window if
the specified secondary data volume is
a mainframe volume.
