P x _REG contains data to be driven out by the respective pins. When a port pin is configured as an
input, the corresponding bit in P x _REG must be set.
The effect of a write to P x _REG is seen on the pins only when the associated pins are configured as
standard I/O port pins (P x _MODE. y = 0).
