Installing and operating the IPBS and IPBL

Installing the Base Station

This section describes how to install the IPBS1 and IPBS2. To install the IPBS1 and IPBS2, fix
the base station to a wall, a ceiling, a pole, or a beam. Use the mounting bracket included in the
shipment. To fix the base station to a wall or ceiling, use the plugs and screws included in the
shipment.
To fix the base station to a pole or beam, use a strap or a flexible metal band. This strap or band
is not included in the shipment.

Do not fix the base station to metal surfaces. If you must, ensure a minimum

distance of 1 meter between the base station and the metal surface. If this
distance is not possible, use a base station with internal antennas.

Base station cables

Use a standard CAT5 unshielded ethernet cable with minimum 26 AWG copper conductors. You
can also provide power the base station with this cable. Ensure that the installation personnel
know how to crimp RJ45 connectors to a cable.

Since the distance between the base station and the wall is limited, you must use

Installing the base station
You can mount the base station vertically or horizontally. Conform to the base station plan while
mounting the base station. See
