Configuring Avaya DECT phones

PDM

PDM runs on a PC. The telephone is configured via PDM as follows:
Connect a Advanced Charger or a Rackmount Charger via USB to the computer running
PDM.
Start PDM.
Place the telephone on a charger that is connected to PDM. The telephone can either be
turned off or turned on when placing it in the charger. A telephone that is turned off will
start up automatically and the battery charging symbol will be displayed.

Configuration of phones on AIWS (Avaya In-Building Wireless
Server)
The AIWS2 is run on an Elise 3 server. For instructions on how to use AIWS2, see
operating the AIWS and the AIWS2
Using charger
Connect a Advanced Charger or a Rackmount Charger via the Ethernet port to your
network.
The charger is by default configured to connect to the network using DHCP. If DHCP is not
used in the network, connect each charger via USB to a PDM and configure a static IP
address.
Start AIWS.
Place the telephone on a charger that is connected to AIWS2.The telephone can either be
turned off or turned on when placing it in the charger. A telephone that is turned off will
start up automatically and the battery charging symbol will be displayed.
Over-the-air (OTA) via IP-DECT
If OTA is configured in the IPBS the cordless telephones can be administered by the Device
Manager without connecting to a charger.
There is no external equipment needed besides AIWS and IP-DECT. Please proceed with
