LDAP

Systems in which the server and a replicating client share a joint user database require the
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) protocol. All base stations or IPBLs in the system
have access to the database, so you can configure one of the IPBSs/IPBLs to be the LDAP
server.
The joint user database contains information about the users registered in the system. The joint
user database also contains the system configuration information about the configurations
made under the DECT menu.
This section describes the following configurations and settings.

Configure LDAP Replicator

Configuring LDAP Server
The IP-DECT system needs an LDAP server. If the PBX is set up as an LDAP server, the IPBS
Master should be set up as an LDAP Replicator. If the IPBS Master is set up as an LDAP
Server, the Standby Master could be set up as an LDAP Replicator, see
Replicator
on page 147.
Setting up the IPBS/IPBL as an LDAP server:
Note:
Select the same user name and password for both Master and Standby Master. If
Note:
you use a multi-Master System, all the Masters must have the same user name
and password.
1. Select LDAP > Server.
2. Add a user, for example ldap-user, in the User field.
3. Enter a password in the Password field.
4. Select the Write Access check box.
5. Click OK.
