Installing and operating the AIWS and the AIWS2
DECT Interface
This parameter makes it possible to disable the DECT Interface on AIWS. When the DECT
interface is disabled, messaging is not supported and lost link to DECT system will not be
indicated.
Note:
In multiple AIWS configurations, there is only one AIWS with an active DECT

interface talking to the IPBS Masters. On the other AIWS, the DECT interface
should be disabled using the DECT interface of the dedicated AIWS to talk to the
IPBS Masters.

Message Distribution
The DECT Interface has distribution lists that define where incoming data from telephones, for
example alarms and user data, should be sent. The following information is supported:
To find settings for DECT Message Distribution, do as follows:
1. On the AIWS start page, select Configuration. The AIWS Configuration page opens.
2. Select Other Settings > Advanced Configuration. The AIWS Advanced Configuration
page opens.
3. On the AIWS Advanced Configuration page, select Messaging Distribution under DECT
Interface.
Alarm
Personal alarms from cordless telephones in the Cordless Telephone System.
Mobile Data - Not used.
Location - Not used.
Availability - Not used.
SMS Character set
This setting determines which characters that can be displayed in the handsets when they
receive messages. Additionally, the setting also determines which characters that can be
entered in the handsets when the users write messages.
