Figure 47: Trunks
Primary and Redundant are the two types of trunks. You can configure one or more Primary
Trunks. Primary Trunks are used in the first place. You can configure one or more Redundant
Trunks that are used when all Primary Trunks are inactive.
Trunk modes
Primary and Redundant Trunk have four different modes.:
Active
The trunk is active and currently used for traffic to PBX.
Up
The trunk is active but currently not used for traffic to PBX.
Down
The trunk is inactive and communication to PBX is not working.
Standby
The trunk is currently not supervised but could be used for
redundant purpose.
Note:
Do not set a Primary Trunk to Standby.
Note:
Up or Down mode indicates weather the trunk is connected with the PBX and is correctly
configured in both the PBX and the IP-DECT system. A trunk that is Active or Up is correctly
configured and correctly attached. A trunk that is Down has a fault, either in the configuration or
the hardware. For example, a broken cable. Fault finding can include checking the IP address
and port as well as the PCB and the cable.
