DHCP Relay Commands
ip helper dhcp-snooping option-82 data-insertion
Globally enables or disables DHCP Option-82 data insertion for DHCP packets. When this feature is
enabled, the relay agent inserts the Option-82 field into DHCP packets before forwarding them to the
DHCP server.
ip helper dhcp-snooping option-82 data-insertion {enable | disable}

Usage Guidelines
•
When DHCP Snooping is enabled at the switch level, Option-82 data insertion and MAC address veri-
fication are enabled by default. In addition, the trust mode for all ports is set to the DHCP client only
mode.
•
Using this command to change the operational status for Option-82 data insertion is only allowed when
DHCP Snooping is globally enabled for the switch.
•
Note that disabling the Option-82 data insertion operation is not allowed when the binding table func-
tionality is enabled.
