Possible Cause
Wiring or grounding faulty
Driver side door switch faulty
Ignition switch faulty
On-Vehicle Service
Ignition (Main) Switch ON-Vehicle Inspection

1) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2) Remove dash side trim (1), steering hole cover (2) and
steering column covers (3).
3) Disconnect ignition (main) switch coupler as follows.
a) Turn ignition switch key to "ACC" position.
b) Insert screw driver (1) in coupler hole.
c) Unlock coupler lock (2) and hold it by pushing it in arrow
direction with screw driver (1).
d) With coupler lock unlocked, disconnect coupler (3).
Correction
Repair circuit.
Check door switch referring to
"Door Switch Inspection" in this
section.
Check ignition switch referring to
"Ignition (Main) Switch ON-Vehicle
Inspection" in this section.
