Idle air control (IAC) valve operation check
USING SUZUKI SCAN TOOL
1) Connect Suzuki Scan Tool to DLC (1) with ignition switch
2) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
3) Clear DTC and select "MISC TEST" mode on Suzuki Scan
4) Check that idle speed increases and/or reduces when IAC
NOT USING SUZUKI SCAN TOOL
1) Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2) Stop engine.
3) Turn ignition switch to ON position.
4) Disconnect IAC valve connector.
5) Start engine.
6) Connect IAC valve connector.
7) Check that idle speed increases and/or reduces when con-

1) Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2) Disconnect connector from IAC valve.
3) Check for proper connection to IAC valve at each terminal.
4) Check each coil of IAC valve for resistance.

5) Connect connector to IAC valve.
6) Remove IAC valve form throttle body referring to "Idle air
OFF.

(A): Suzuki Scan Tool

If idle speed does not change, check IAC valve and wire har-
ness.

Terminals
Between "1" and "2"
Between "3" and "2"
Between "4" and "5"
Between "6" and "5"

25.5 – 33.5 Ω
(at 20°C, 68°F)
