TUNE-UP
PROCEDURE
5. Connect
a compression
gauge
to the No. 1 spark
plug hole.
6. Fully depress
the accelerator
pedal and crank the
engine.
7. Check whether
the gauge
reads within the limits

compression:

kPa (11.0
kg/cm*,
156 psi)
Compression
limit:
755 kPa (7.7 kg/cm*,
109 psi)
8. Check
each cylinder.
9. Refit the primary
wire connector
securely
to the ig,
nition coil.
10. Install the spark
plugs and high-tension
leads.
Ignition
Timing
1. Warm
up the engine
and run it at idle.
2. Turn all electric
loads OFF.
3. Connect
a timing
light tester.
4. Disconnect
the vaccum
hose from the vacuum
control,
and plug the hose.
5. Disconnect
the black connector
at distributor.
6. Check that the ignition
timing
mark (yellow) on the
crankshaft
pulley and the timing
mark on the tjm-
ing belt cover
are aligned.

7. If necessary,
adjust the ignition
timing
by turning
the distributor.
8. Reconnect
the vacuum
hose and the black con-
nector
at distributor.
Idle Speed
1, Connect
a tachometer
to the engine.
2. Turn off all lights and other unnecessary
electrical
loads.
3. Check the idle speed. If necessary,
turn the air ad-
just screw and adjust to specifications.

speed:
850
