WATER PUMP
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1, Turn the crankshaft so that the No. 1 cylinder is at top dead center of compression
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove the parts in the numbered sequence shown in the figure,
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

1. Drive belt (with P/S and or A/C)
2. Drive belt
3. Water pump pulley
4. Crankshaft pulley
5. Baffle plate
6. Timing belt cover (upper)
7. Timing belt cover (middle)
8. Timing belt cover (lower)
9. Timing belt tensioner
10. Tensioner spring
Il. Timing belt
12. Coolant inlet pipe
13. Water pump assembly
Note
a) Do not disassemble the water pump, if a problem is found replace it as a unit.
b) Position the hose clamp in the original location on the hose and
squeeze
it lightly with
large pliers to ensure a
good fit.
