IGNITION COIL
IGNITION COIL
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect the distributor lead and wires.
2. Remove the two installation bolts.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal.
INSPECTION
Primary coil
Use a ohmmeter and check for continuity in the pri-
mary coil. If there is no continuity, replace the coil.
Secondary coil
Use a tester to measure the resistance of the secon-
dary coil.
Secondary coil resistance: 6-30 kO
Insulation of case
Use a 5OOV megger tester to measure the insulation
resistance between the primary terminal and the case.
The standard reading is 10 MQ or more.
Note
The conventional type of lgnltlon coil (for car-
buretor) Is Inspected the same as above.
