FRONT AXLE
REMOVAL
1, Raise the front of the vehicle and support it with
safety stands.
2.
Rem&e the wheel.
3. Raise the nut tab and remove the driveshaft
locknut.
Note
When loosening the nut, lock the hub by ap-
plying the brakes.
4. Remove the split pin from the tie-rod end locknut.
5. Separate the tie-rod end from the knuckle with the
SST.
Note
If it is difficult to separate, tap the knuckle and
ball joint with a hammer.
6. Remove the caliper assembly from the knuckle,
and hang it from the shock absorber.
7. Remove the clamp bolt and nut, and push the low-
er arm downward to separate the knuckle and the
ball joint.
8. Remove the bolts and nuts which couple the
knuckle and the shock absorber.
