FUEL SYSTEM
INSPECTION
Fuel Pump (Operation Test)
1, Connect a jumper wire to the check connector (vel-
low connector).
2. Open the fuel tank lid, and fuel filler cap.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
4. Check that the fuel pump operation sound.
5. Shut the fuel filler cap, and fuel tank lid.
6. If operation sound is not produced, check the volt-
age at the fuel pump connector.
Voltage: 12V
(IG: ON, Voltmeter [GR and B] connected)
7. If the voltage normal, replace the fuel pump.
Fuel pump (Volume test)
Warning
Before performing following procedures, re-
lease the fuel pressure to reduce the possi-
bility of injury or fire. (Refer to page 4A--34)
1. Connect a jumper wire to check connector (YeI-
low connector).
2. Disconnect the fuel return hose from fuel return
pipe.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON for 10 seconds, and
check the feeding capacity with graduated
cylinder.
Feeding capacity: 220-380 cc (13.4-23.2 cu-
in) when fuel pressure at 250 kPa (2.55
kg/cm', 36.3 psi)
4. If not within specification, check the fuel filter, and
fuel line.
