1. Shut down your system by following the steps in

139. You do not have to remove the ion source cartridge or column. If you are
using hydrogen as a carrier gas, power off the GC.

2. Remove and replace the vent valve knob and o-ring. Be careful not to pinch the o-ring
during installation.
