Note Keep all manifold parts you remove covered on a clean work surface so they will not
accumulate dust.
15. Use a T20 screwdriver to remove the right screw that holds the analyzer tray to the
manifold.
16. Disconnect the filament board and wires from the source interface board.
Note If you have an Advanced EI source, you will have removed the filament when you
previously removed the ion source cartridge.
17. Use a T20 screwdriver to remove all four screws holding the transfer line to the manifold.
18. Remove the two standoffs holding the transfer line to the manifold.

19. Gently pull the transfer line away from the source heater block. Pushing the analyzer tray
slightly toward the transfer line may help to relieve stress at this joint. The amount of heat
experienced by these parts over time can cause this junction to stick. A gentle wiggling
motion may be required when separating these parts. Be careful to not use excessive force
so that the transfer line tip and source heater block are not damaged. Be sure not to bend
the tubes or scratch the transferline.
