To restart your system
1. Close the front door of the instrument.
2. Twist the vent valve clockwise to close the valve. Be careful not to pinch the o-ring.
3. Reinsert the column to the proper length and tighten the transfer line nut. See

4. If you are using hydrogen, replace the front panel screw.
5. Replace the ion source cartridge. See
through the Vacuum Interlock"
6. Replace all hydrogen safety screws if you are using hydrogen.
7. Power-on the TSQ 9610 mass spectrometer.
8. If the GC is powered off, power it on and make sure vacuum compensation is on for the
carrier gas flowing into the mass spectrometer.
WARNING FIRE HAZARD: If you are using hydrogen, do NOT reach over the top of the
instrument to power it on. Instead, reach around the left side or go to the back of the
instrument and flip up the power switch.
