Replacing Components of the Vacuum Interlock

Note You do not have to remove the ion source cartridge or the column. However, you
must vent the instrument.
2. Use a T20 Torxhead screwdriver to loosen the top cover panel.
3. Remove the vacuum interlock knob and use a T20 Torxhead screwdriver to remove the
five screws around the knob. Replace the knob and screws, if necessary.
Note As you remove the screws around the vacuum interlock knob, watch for a small
spring and safety interlock (location shown below) that will fall out as your remove the
knob. Be sure to catch them and set them aside. Replace the spring and safety interlock, if
necessary.
