If the toothed gear stop on the motor -E- is not in the position

depicted, connect the terminals 5 and 6 of control motor via a
5A fuse to a 12 V battery, for example using an adapter lead
(refer to
⇒ "9.11 Preparing Adapter Cables for Control Motor Actua‐
tion", page 117 ) (or an adapter lead from the Connector Test
Set - VAG1594/C- ). Rotate the control motor until the toothed
gear is in the position shown. The turning direction can be re‐
versed by switching positive and negative.
If toothed gear stop on motor -E- is not at stop -D- in the po‐

sition depicted, door -B- must be closed (to close, rotate in
direction of arrow -C- until it reaches stop).
– Reach into air duct above opening of removed vent in rear
center console and set the door -B- into a vertical position
(completely open).
– Check position of toothed gear at door -F-, the first tooth must
still be completely visible (the first tooth gap is covered halfway
by edge of opening -G-) and position of toothed gear at control
motor -D- (it must be at the stop as depicted).
– Install the control motor -C-.
– Install the bolts -A-.
– Connect the connector -B- to the control motor -C-.
– Check DTC memory of the Climatronic Control Module - J255-
front A/C control head (and of Rear A/C Display Control Head
- E265- ) and erase any DTCs displayed. Use the Vehicle Di‐
agnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
– If necessary, perform a basic setting and output diagnostic test
mode on the A/C system. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
via the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
– Check the movement of the door -B-, for example during basic
setting (or output Diagnostic Test Mode -DTM-), it must close
and open completely.
– Install the remaining removed components again in reverse
order.
