– Remove the boot -A-.
– Remove driveshaft -B- from splines of drive pinion -C-
Note
Currently, the boot -A- is secured against slipping by a clamp on
flange of drive toothed gear -C- of engine.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
– Check driveshaft -B-, splines must show no traces of wear and
must be seated free of play in splines of drive wheel -C-.
– Coat the driveshaft splines -B- with Grease - G 000 100- before
inserting. Refer to the Parts Catalog.
– Insert driveshaft -B- before installing compressor and slide it
into drive wheel -C- up to stop.
– After installing compressor, check installation position of boot
-A-.
The boot -E- is secured against slipping by the clamp on the pow‐
er steering pump flange. Refer to the Parts Catalog.
