– Check the coolant circuit for leaks, paying particular attention
between coolant hoses and heater core. Refer to ⇒ Engine
Mechanical; Rep. Gr. 19 .
Note
Check seal of coolant circuit after charging, for example, as fol‐
lows: Open the cap on coolant expansion tank (observe safety
precautions when opening cap. Refer to ⇒ Engine Mechanical;
Rep. Gr. 19 ) and then increase pressure in cooling circuit, for
example, using hand pump from Cooling System Tester -
VAG1274/- . Refer to ⇒ Engine Mechanical; Rep. Gr. 19 .
– Bleed the cooling circuit. Refer to
⇒ "7 Coolant Circuit, Bleeding", page 78
chanical; Rep. Gr. 19 .
Note
When bleeding coolant circuit, take special care to ensure com‐
plete bleeding of heater cores. If there are still air bubbles in the
heater core, it may cause the customer to complain of insufficient
heating performance in winter or different air temperature from
vents at same setting in regulated mode. Refer to
⇒ "14 Heating Performance of A/C System, Checking",
page 231
– Re-install the lower left instrument panel lining.
– Check the DTC memory of the Climatronic Control Module -
J255- front A/C control head and of Rear A/C Display Control
Head - E265- and erase DTCs displayed if necessary. Use the
Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault Finding" func‐
tion.
– Perform a basic setting and output diagnostic test mode on the
A/C system. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided
Fault Finding" function.
– Operate the A/C system after filling the refrigerant circuit. Re‐
fer to
⇒ "21 A/C System, Operating after Filling Refrigerant Circuit",
page 332
.
– Check the functionality of the A/C system if necessary. Use
the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault Finding"
function.
