Climatronic Control Module -
J255- front A/C control head for
the Front Information Display
Control Head Control Module -
J523- or for the Information Elec‐
tronics Control Module 1 - J794- .
Refer to the Parts Catalog (dif‐
ferent versions). If the allocation
is incorrect, various A/C system
functions cannot be displayed
and selected in the MMI.
❑ From MY 2011, this vehicle has a Start/Stop System for specific engines as optional equipment. For
vehicles with a start/stop system installed, only the Climatronic control module - J255- front A/C control
head with part number 4L0 820 043 from the index "AD" may be or will be installed. Pay attention to the
correct version, coding and adapting for the Climatronic Control Module - J255- front A/C control head
on these vehicles. Refer to the Parts Catalog and use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault
Finding" function.
Note
Vehicles with the start/stop system
include the required auxiliary func‐
tions for the Climatronic Control
Module - J255- front A/C control
head with part number 4L0 820 043
from the index "AD". In addition, the
signal is evaluated by the Humidity
Sensor - G355- installed for these
vehicles.
9 - Left Front Seat Temperature Sensor - G344- and Left Front Seat Heating Element - Z45-
❑ Seat heater (and seat ventilation) is not installed on all vehicles (optional equipment, introduction of seat
ventilation as a running change from MY 2010)
❑ The activation of seat heater and seat ventilation are displayed in measured value block of the Climatronic
Control Module - J255- front A/C control head. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault
Finding" function.
❑ For servicing the seat heater (and seat ventilation), refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep. Gr. 74 .
10 - Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor - G261-
❑ Only installed on vehicles with a "Comfort" version A/C system
❑ Installed in left air duct in left footwell. For removing and installing, refer to
⇒ "9.6 Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor G261 , Removing and Installing ", page 111
11 - Left Footwell Door Motor - V108-
❑ Only installed on vehicles with a "Comfort" version A/C system

On vehicles with "Basic" version Cli‐
matronic Control Module - J255-
front A/C control head, the left and
right footwell doors are operated by
the Left Footwell Door Motor - V108-
(both left and right doors are con‐
nected to each other via a shaft).
