A/C System Components Not Inside Passenger Compartment

1 - Outside Air Temperature
Sensor - G17-
❑ To remove, remove top
bumper cover (refer to
⇒ Body Exterior; Rep.
Gr. 50 ; Body Front ) or
remove bottom bumper
cover (refer to ⇒ Body
Exterior; Rep. Gr. 63 ;
Front Bumper; Front
Bumper, Removing and
Installing ).
❑ Reach through between
bumper cover and con‐
denser, disconnect
electrical connection at
Outside Air Tempera‐
ture Sensor - G17- and
unclip Outside Air Tem‐
perature Sensor - G17-
from mount in cowl
brace.
❑ Measured value of Out‐
side Air Temperature
Sensor - G17- is evalu‐
ated by Instrument
Cluster Control Module -
J285- and transmitted
via Comfort CAN-Bus
system to the Climatron‐
ic Control Module -
J255- front A/C control
head. Use the Vehicle
Diagnostic Tester via
the "Guided Fault Find‐
ing" function.
Note
When engine is hot, measured val‐
ue of Outside Air Temperature Sen‐
sor - G17- may be falsified by heat
radiating from the radiator, therefore
a, for example, lower measured val‐
ue is stored for up to four hours and
is used for the outside temperature
displayed in the instrument cluster.
Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
via the "Guided Fault Finding" func‐
tion.
2 - Condenser
❑ May only be removed when refrigerant circuit has been discharged; bring vehicle to a workshop that has
the necessary tools and in which the work can be performed accordingly by qualified personnel. Refer
to ⇒ Refrigerant R134a Servicing; Rep. Gr. 87 ; A/C System General Information (Refrigerant R134a,
