Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - Edition 04.2013
♦ The displayed measured values from the left -G385- and the
right -G386- front upper body vent temperature sensors
("Comfort" A/C system) or the values measured with a ther‐
mometer ("Basis" A/C system) may be greater than maximum
5° C after five minutes than the measured value from the
evaporator vent temperature sensor -G263- (less than 5° C
(41° F)), Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided
Fault Finding" function.
Note
The air travelling from evaporator to vents is heated slightly by
heat radiated by heater core in the A/C unit and by leaking air
which flows by at temperature doors through the heater core.
♦ If the required valued are not reached, then compare the dis‐
played measured values from the left -G385- and right -G386-
front upper body vent temperature sensors (" Comfort") with
each other (on the " Basis" measure the temperature of the air
coming out of the vents on the right and left sides of the in‐
strument panel). If the measured value of one of the two
sensors (of the left -G385- and of right -G386- front upper body
vent temperature sensors or the left or right measured value)
is OK and the measured value of the other one too large.
Check the activation and the functionality of the temperature
doors in the A/C unit (activation of the Left Temperature Door
Motor - V158- and of the Right Temperature Door Motor -
V159- as well as the corresponding lever; refer to
⇒ "9.9 Retaining plate with Left Footwell Door Motor V108 and
Left Temperature Door Motor V158 , Removing and Installing",
page 114
and
⇒ "9.23 Retaining Plate with Control Motors V158 ( V159 ) and
V109 ( V108 ), Removing and Installing", page 153
the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault Finding"
function.
♦ The measured value of the left -G385- and right -G386- front
upper body vent temperature sensors or the temperature of
the air coming out of the vents) is lower than the displayed
measured value of the evaporator vent temperature sensor -
G263- . Make sure the evaporator vent temperature sensor -
G263- (and left -G385- and right -G386- front upper body vent
temperature sensors on the " Comfort"version) are installed
correctly and check the connectors for contact resistance. Re‐
place the faulty sensor if necessary. Use the Vehicle Diag‐
nostic Tester via the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
