– Bring control motors into service position, perform basic set‐
ting of A/C system (bring the motors into the "service posi‐
tion"). Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault
Finding" function.
– As soon as control motors are located in service position,
switch ignition off. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the
"Guided Fault Finding" function.
Note
The control motors can only be re-installed in the service position
after removal.
– Remove the instrument panel. Refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep.
Gr. 70 ; Instrument Panel; Instrument Panel, Removing and
Installing .
– Remove the retaining plate with control motors -V158- , -V159-
and -V109- ( -V108- ). Refer to
⇒ "9.23 Retaining Plate with Control Motors V158 ( V159 ) and
V109 ( V108 ), Removing and Installing", page 153
– Remove the bolts -A-.
Note
The bolts -C- are not loosened or removed to remove retaining
plate -B-, they are used to guide the retaining plate.
The retaining plate -B- can then only be removed and installed
with instrument panel installed when the bolts -C- are not tight‐
ened too tightly. Since on the other hand the connection of the
lever on the control motors to the levers on the doors cannot
be checked with the instrument panel installed, it makes sense
to remove the instrument panel and remove and install the
control motors with the retaining plate installed, despite the
great amount of work involved to remove and install the in‐
stalled control motor.
– Pull out the retaining plate -B- with control motors downward.
– Mark the connectors -D- and -E- (risk of interchange) and dis‐
connect them.
