– Remove bushings -F- from compressor if necessary.
Installing the compressor with the drive unit
Before installing the compressor, refer to ⇒ A/C System with Re‐
frigerant R134a; Rep. Gr. 87 ; A/C System General Information
(A/C System with Refrigerant R134a; A/C System General Infor‐
mation).
Note
There is a quantity of refrigerant oil in the removed compressor,
therefore observe the notes for replacing the compressor. Refer
to ⇒ A/C System with Refrigerant R134a; Rep. Gr. 87 ; Refrig‐
erant Circuit Components, Replacing (A/C System with Refriger‐
ant R134a; Refrigerant Circuit Components, Replacing).
– Remove bushings -C- from compressor bracket if necessary.
– Thoroughly clean contact surfaces -A- and -B- on bracket (and
contact surfaces on compressor).
– Install bushings -C- into compressor bracket.
Note
Ensure that bushings -C- have proper seating and contact
surfaces are clean. Sockets installed incorrectly and dirty or
damaged contact surfaces can lead to alignment irregularities
between the compressor and engine. Alignment irregularities
over operating time lead to damage to input shaft or compres‐
sor.
The bushings -C- have different styles (different lengths),
make sure to use the correct version. Refer to the Parts Cat‐
alog.
– If necessary, install compressor driveshaft -A- (into drive
wheel of engine) and check seating as well as the associated
boot -E-.

– Check connections of compressor and of refrigerant lines for
damage or soiling.
