5 - Instrument Panel Vent, Center
❑ For removing and installing instrument panel vents, refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep. Gr. 70 ; Front Door
Trim; Air Duct, Removing and Installing .
❑ The amount of outflowing air can be modified separately for driver's and front passenger's side in vehicles
with "Comfort" version A/C system. Refer to
Manual.
6 - Climatronic Control Module - J255- front A/C Control Head of "Basic" Version
❑ Installed only in vehicles with "Basic" version A/C system
❑ Versions vary (for vehicles with or without seat heating. For allocation, refer to the Parts Catalog.)

❑ On Board Diagnostic (OBD) of the Climatronic Control Module - J255- front A/C control head is to be
performed as described in Guided Fault Finding. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault
Finding" function.
❑ Buttons and display fields are illuminated by light emitting diodes (LED), cannot be replaced.
Note
The Refrigerant Temperature Sen‐
sor - G454- was discontinued as a
running change from 11/2007. If, on
a vehicle with the "Basis" A/C sys‐
tem and without a Refrigerant Tem‐
perature Sensor - G454- , the refrig‐
erant temperature sensor -G454-
displays as a fault, then perform and
adaptation to the front A/C control
head "Basis" (this is not necessary
on the "Comfort" A/C system be‐
cause there are different version of
the front A/C control head). Use the
Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the
"Guided Fault Finding" function.
7 - Interior Temperature Sensor Fan - V42- and Instrument Panel Temperature Sensor - G56-
❑ Only installed on vehicles with a "Comfort" version A/C system
❑ Installed in "Comfort" version Climatronic Control Module - J255- front A/C control head. Use the Vehicle
Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
❑ Interior Temperature Sensor Fan - V42- , removing and installing. Refer to
⇒ "9.4 Interior Temperature Sensor Fan V42 , Removing and Installing", page 104
❑ Instrument Panel Temperature Sensor - G56- cannot be replaced individually
