– Install the wiring harness -C- and tighten the mounting points
-B- on the A/C unit.
– Check the wiring harness -C- routing. It must installed so that
it does not make any noise and so that it cannot come in con‐
tact with any moving components.
Note
Secure the wiring harness with additional cable ties and foam
strips to keep it from moving or making noise, if necessary.
– Secure the connector -B- to the A/C unit and then connect the
connector- A-.
– Secure the Auxiliary Heater Heating Element - Z35- ground
connection -C- to the instrument panel crossmember (tighten‐
ing torque: 9 Nm). Refer to Wiring diagrams, Troubleshooting
and Component locations.
– Install the front A/C unit heat exchanger.

– Install the instrument panel shell and the glove compartment.

Note
After all the components are installed, except the glove compart‐
ment, check the Auxiliary Heater Heating Element - Z35- control
and function using the A/C and engine control module "control

– Check the DTC memory of the Climatronic Control Module -
J255- front A/C display control head (and of the Rear A/C
Display Control Head - E265- ) and erase any displayed DTCs.
Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault Find‐
ing" function.
– Install the glove compartment. Refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep.
