General Information

Note
If there is a malfunction in the system, first check DTC memory

of the Climatronic Control Module - J255- front A/C control
head (and of Rear A/C Display Control Head - E265- ). Use
the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault Finding"
function.
If no malfunction is indicated, read out measuring value block
♦
of the Climatronic Control Module - J255- front A/C control
head and actuate any faulty component via the "output Diag‐
nostic Test Mode (DTM)" function. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic
Tester via the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
For servicing operations on A/C system that are possible with‐
♦
out opening refrigerant circuit, refer to
⇒ "3 Refrigerant Circuit", page 12
For servicing operations on A/C system that require the re‐
♦
frigerant circuit to be opened, refer to
⇒ "15 Refrigerant Circuit, Servicing", page 241
Perform the electrical test for various actuators, potentiome‐
♦
ters and sensors. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the
"Guided Fault Finding" function.
Perform the following work after completion of repair opera‐
♦
tions:
– Check DTC memory of the Climatronic Control Module - J255-
front A/C control head (and of Rear A/C Display Control Head
- E265- ) and erase any DTCs displayed. Use the Vehicle Di‐
agnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
– Check the coding of the Climatronic Control Module - J255-
front A/C control head. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via
the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
– If necessary, check the adaptation of the Climatronic Control
Module - J255- front A/C control head and Rear A/C display
control head - E265- (not installed on all vehicles, optional
equipment). Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided
Fault Finding" function.
– Perform basic setting of A/C system via the Climatronic Con‐
trol Module - J255- front A/C control head and Rear A/C
display control head - E265- (not installed on all vehicles, op‐
tional equipment). Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the
"Guided Fault Finding" function.
