Retaining plate with Defroster Door Mo‐
tor - V107- , Left Side Vent Motor - V299-
(and Left Center Vent Motor - V110- ),
Removing and Installing
Note
Only two control motors are installed on this retaining plate on
vehicles with a Climatronic Control Module - J255- front A/C
control head "Basic" version. The left center vent motor -V110-
is not present, doors for left and right side vents as well as
doors for left and right center vents are operated by Left Side
Vent Motor - V299- (left and right doors are connected to each
other via the shaft respectively, both shafts are connected to
a lever). Refer to
⇒ "12.2 Air Duct in Front A/C Unit", page 206
This retaining plate -B- can then only be removed and installed
with instrument panel installed when the bolts -C- are not tight‐
ened too tightly. Since on the other hand the connection of the
lever on the control motors to the levers on the doors cannot
be checked with the instrument panel installed, it makes sense
to remove the instrument panel and remove and install the
control motors with the retaining plate installed, despite the
great amount of work involved to remove and install the in‐
stalled control motor.
Removing
– Turn the ignition on.
– Bring the control motors into service position, perform basic
setting of A/C system (bring the motors into the "service posi‐
tion"). Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault
Finding" function.
– As soon as control motors are located in service position,
switch ignition off. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the
"Guided Fault Finding" function.
Note
The control motors can only be re-installed in the service position
after removal.

Interior; Rep. Gr. 70 ; Instrument Panel; Instrument Panel,
Removing and Installing .

erator Pedal Module with Throttle Position Sensors, Removing

led in left area next to A/C unit and set it aside.
