Note
Only installed on vehicles with a "Comfort" version A/C system
On vehicles with a Climatronic Control Module - J255- "Basic"
version front A/C control head, the doors for left and right side
vents as well as doors for left and right center vents are oper‐
ated by Left Side Vent Motor - V299- -B- (left and right doors
are connected to each other respectively via a shaft, both
shafts are connected to a lever). Refer to
⇒ "12.2 Air Duct in Front A/C Unit", page 206
The control motor is secured to a retaining plate, this retaining
plate can then only be removed and installed with the instru‐
ment panel installed when bolts -C- are not tightened too
tightly. Refer to
⇒ "9.15 Retaining plate with Defroster Door Motor V107 , Left
Side Vent Motor V299 (and Left Center Vent Motor V110 ),
Removing and Installing", page 128
the connection of the lever on the control motors to the levers
on the doors cannot be checked with the instrument panel in‐
stalled, it makes sense to remove the instrument panel and
remove and install the control motor with the retaining plate
installed, despite the great amount of work involved to remove
and install this control motor.
Removing
– Remove retaining plate -D- with control motors -V107- , -V299-
and -V110-

Side Vent Motor V299 (and Left Center Vent Motor V110 ),
