– Disconnect the connector -A- from the Evaporator Vent Tem‐
perature Sensor - G263- .
– Rotate the Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor - G263- -B-
approximately 90° in direction of arrow.
– Remove the Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor - G263-
-B- from the A/C unit.
Installing
– Check seal -D- for damage and proper fitting.
– Insert the Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor - G263- -A-
on proper side into the A/C unit mount -C-.
Note
An O-ring seal -D- is installed so that the Evaporator Vent Tem‐
perature Sensor - G263- fits without play in the mount -E-.
– Connect the connector -B- from the Evaporator Vent Temper‐
ature Sensor - G263- -A-.
– Install the remaining removed components again in reverse
order.
– Check the DTC memory for the Climatronic control module -
J255- A/C control head and erase any faults displayed if
necessary. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided
Fault Finding" function.

Installing
Note
From 11/2007, the "Comfort" A/C system as an updated Fresh Air
Blower Control Module - J126- (an updated "Comfort" Climatronic
Control Module - J255- and an updated Fresh Air Blower - V2- ).
Make sure to use the correct allocation for these parts with each
other. Refer to
⇒ "9.31 Fresh Air Blower Control Module J126 , Removing and
Installing", page 164
and to the Parts Catalog.
Caution
Do not grasp fan wheel of the Fresh Air Blower - V2- , force
against the fan wheel or shifting the balancing weights fas‐
tened to fan wheel may cause imbalance and then problems
during operation.
Removing
– Switch off ignition.
– Remove the lower right instrument panel trim. Refer to ⇒ Body
Interior; Rep. Gr. 68 ; Storage Compartments and Covers;
Front Passenger Side Instrument Panel Cover, Removing and
Installing .
– Remove the glove box. Refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep. Gr. 68 ;
Storage Compartments and Covers .
