Removing
– Remove the retaining plate -D- with control motors -V111- and
-V300- . Refer to
⇒ "9.27 Retaining Plate with Control Motors V111 and V300 ,
Removing and Installing", page 158
– Mark the control motors if necessary (versions vary. Refer to
the Parts Catalog).
– Remove bolts -C- from the Right Side Vent Motor - V300-
-B- and remove the motor.
Installing
Remove the control motor on retaining plate.
– Install the retaining plate -D- with control motors -V111- and -
V300- . Refer to
⇒ "9.27 Retaining Plate with Control Motors V111 and V300 ,
Removing and Installing", page 158
Note
Check the lever position of the control motors before installing
retaining plate, the retaining plate can only be installed correctly
when it is located in the service position. Refer to
⇒ "9.27 Retaining Plate with Control Motors V111 and V300 , Re‐
moving and Installing", page 158
– Install the removed components again in reverse order.
– Check the DTC memory for the Climatronic control module -
J255- A/C control head and erase any faults displayed if
necessary. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided
Fault Finding" function.
– If necessary, perform a basic setting and output diagnostic test
mode on the A/C system. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
via the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

Retaining Plate with Control Motors -
V111- and -V300- , Removing and In‐
stalling
Note
On vehicles with left-side steering, only present on "Comfort"
version A/C system
On vehicles with "Basic" version A/C system, the doors for left
and right side vents as well as doors for left and right center
vents are operated by Left Side Vent Motor - V299- (left and
right doors are connected to each other via the shaft respec‐
tively, both shafts are connected to a lever). Refer to
⇒ "12.2 Air Duct in Front A/C Unit", page 206
On vehicles with right-side steering, the Defroster Door Motor
- V107-
⇒ "9.12 Defroster Door Motor V107 , Removing and Installing
", page 118
is also fastened to this retaining plate (for a differ‐
ent version of the retaining plate, refer to the Parts Catalog).
Removing
– Turn the ignition on.
