– Remove the right front seat (front passenger's seat) complete‐
ly with lower seat frame. Refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep. Gr.
72 .
– Carefully fold the rear floor carpet in the center console area
aside. Refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep. Gr. 70 ; Trim; Rear Floor
Covering, Removing and Installing .
– Remove the bolts -A-.
– Disconnect the connector from the Right B-Pillar/Footwell
Shut-Off Door Motor - V211- -B- and remove the control motor
-C- with the cover -D-.
– Disengage the connecting rod -E- from the control motor lever
-F-.
Installing
– Check that the connecting rod -E- is installed on proper side.
– Install the removed components again in reverse order.
– Check DTC memory of the Climatronic Control Module - J255-
front A/C control head (and of Rear A/C Display Control Head
- E265- ) and erase any DTCs displayed. Use the Vehicle Di‐
agnostic Tester via the "Guided Fault Finding" function.
– If necessary, perform a basic setting and output diagnostic test
mode on the A/C system. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
via the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

Checking
– Check valve -A- from below (with vehicle on a lift). Valve must
not be obstructed by wax or underbody sealer and must close
properly.
– Check condensation water drain of rear A/C unit -F- for soiling
(for example, using a piece of wire) and clean it if necessary.
Note
Condensation water hose -D- must fit securely on connection

of the A/C unit -F-.
Condensation water hose -D- to valve -A- must not be kinked
♦
or pinched.
Depending on production time period, the condensation drain
♦
hose -D- is secured by a hose clamp -E- or a cable tie to con‐
densation water drain of rear A/C unit -F-.
Removing
– Switch off ignition.
