– Slide the condensation water drain -B- into vehicle interior
from below (disengage condensation water drain -B- from rear
floor plate -C- to do so).
– Remove the left side wall trim in luggage compartment and
floor pan. Refer to ⇒ Body Interior; Rep. Gr. 70 ; Trim; Lug‐
gage Compartment Side Trim Panel, Removing and Instal‐
ling .
– On vehicles with air spring suspension system, disengage
pressure reservoir from vehicle and set it down in center of
vehicle so that air connection is not twisted, pinched or other‐
wise stressed or damaged (air connection is not sealed). Refer
to ⇒ Suspension, Wheels, Steering; Rep. Gr. 43 ; Air Spring
Suspension Settings -Vehicle Diagnostic Tester- , Connecting
and Selecting Functions; Vehicle Lift Mode .
– Mark the connectors to Right Rear Vent Temperature Sensor
- G406- and Left Rear Vent Temperature Sensor - G405- (risk
of interchange) and disconnect them from sensors. Refer to
⇒ "9.47 Right Rear Vent Temperature Sensor G406 and Left
Rear Vent Temperature Sensor G405 , Removing and Instal‐
ling", page 189 .
– Remove insulation -A-.
– Remove mounting bolts -B-.
– Disconnect the connectors -A- and -B- and secure the loose
connectors to vehicle, for example with adhesive tape so that
they do not interfere with the removal of the A/C unit.
– Secure wires bypassing at the A/C unit (for example, wire
-C-) to vehicle body with adhesive tape so that they do not
interfere with the removal of the A/C unit and are not damaged.
– Remove bolts -D-.
