General Information

Note
On vehicles with an 8-cylinder engine and 12-cylinder TDI en‐

gine, the refrigerant circuit must be discharged to remove the
compressor from its bracket. Refer to ⇒ A/C System with Re‐
frigerant R134a; Rep. Gr. 87 ; Refrigerant Circuit (A/C System
with Refrigerant R134a; Refrigerant Circuit, Using Service
Station).
On vehicles with a 6-cylinder engine, first remove the refrig‐

erant lines from the compressor (refer to

Removing
– Discharge the refrigerant circuit. Refer to ⇒ A/C System with
Refrigerant R134a; Rep. Gr. 87 ; Refrigerant Circuit (A/C Sys‐

Station).
– Remove the upper engine cover. Refer to ⇒ 8-Cylinder TDI
