Rubber elements are installed
between belt pulley/drive unit
and compressor driveshaft, vi‐
brations which may occur during
compressor operation may be
dissipated via these rubber ele‐
ments (damper function at tor‐
que fluctuations).
There are different belt pulleys
depending on the type of A/C
compressor (6-cylinder, 8-cylin‐
der TDI or 12-cylinder TDI en‐
gine). Refer to

4 - Oil Drain Plug
❑ Denso compressors have sealing ring installed, always replace
❑ Tightening specification: 30 Nm
❑ May only be removed to drain refrigerant oil with the compressor removed (turn compressor via belt
pulley/drive unit to speed up refrigerant oil drainage). Refer to ⇒ A/C System with Refrigerant R134a;
Rep. Gr. 87 ; Refrigerant Circuit Components, Replacing (A/C System with Refrigerant R134a; Refrig‐
erant Circuit Components, Replacing).
5 - High Pressure Relief Valve
❑ Do not remove
❑ Tightening specification: 10 Nm
6 - Connection without Valve
❑ With the refrigerant circuit empty, use an adapter from the Socket for A/C Valves - T10364- to remove
and install a valve insert.
WARNING
The valve insert may be
removed only when the
refrigerant circuit is emp‐
ty.
