– Through the opening under left luggage compartment lining,
remove bolts -A- (tightening torque 10 Nm).
– Disconnect the refrigerant lines -B- and -C-.
Note
Close all open lines and connections on expansion valve with
suitable caps (avoid dirt and moisture from entering the system).
Installing
– Replace the O-ring seals -D- and -E-. For the correct version,
refer to the Parts Catalog.

Check the O-ring seals for proper seating in groove -J- of re‐

spective refrigerant line
Install refrigerant pipes such that they are not strained.

Check installation position of refrigerant lines to expansion

valve (they should not come in contact with other compo‐
nents).
– Insert the refrigerant lines into expansion valve.
– Install bolts -A- (tightening torque 10 Nm).
– Install remaining components.
– Evacuate and refill the refrigerant circuit. Refer to ⇒ A/C Sys‐
tem with Refrigerant R134a; Rep. Gr. 87 ; Refrigerant Circuit
(A/C System with Refrigerant R134a; Refrigerant Circuit, Us‐
ing Service Station).
– Operate the A/C system after filling the refrigerant circuit. Re‐
fer to
⇒ "21 A/C System, Operating after Filling Refrigerant Circuit",
page 332 .
