– Disconnect the connector -B- from the Left Front Upper Body
Outlet Temperature Sensor - G385- -A-.
– Rotate the Left Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor
- G385- -A- approximately 90° in direction of arrow.
– Remove the Left Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sen‐
sor - G385- -A- from the A/C unit.
Installing
– Check the O-ring seal -D- for damage and proper fitting.
– Insert the Left Front Upper Body Outlet Temperature Sensor
- G385- -A- on proper side into the A/C unit mount -E-.
Note
An O-ring seal -D- is installed so that the Left Front Upper Body
Outlet Temperature Sensor - G385- fits without play in the mount
-E-.
– Connect the connector -B- to the Left Front Upper Body Vent
Temperature Sensor - G385- -A- and check routing of wire

– Install retaining plate with control motors -V107- , -V299- and
-V110-
⇒ "9.15 Retaining plate with Defroster Door Motor V107 , Left
Side Vent Motor V299 (and Left Center Vent Motor V110 ),
Removing and Installing", page 128
– Install the retaining plate with control motors -V108- and -
V158- . Refer to
⇒ "9.9 Retaining plate with Left Footwell Door Motor V108 and
Left Temperature Door Motor V158 , Removing and Installing",
page 114
.
– Install the remaining removed components again in reverse
order.
– Check the DTC memory for the Climatronic control module -
J255- A/C control head and erase any faults displayed if
necessary. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided
Fault Finding" function.
– Perform a basic setting and output diagnostic test mode on the
A/C system. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester via the "Guided
Fault Finding" function.

Removing and Installing
Note
Only installed on vehicles with a "Comfort" version A/C system
The vent for indirect ventilation is not installed on vehicles with
"Basic" version A/C system. Refer to
⇒ "12.3 Instrument Panel Vents and Air Ducts in Front (and
Rear) Passenger Compartment", page 209
Different connector assignments on vehicles with left-side and
right-side steering. Refer to Wiring diagrams, Troubleshooting
and Component locations.
The Indirect Ventilation Door Motor Position Sensor - G330-
is installed in Indirect Ventilation Door Motor - V213- .
