– Remove the bolts -A- (tightening torque 8 Nm).
– Loosen the hoses with the Coolant Recirculation Pump - V50-
-B- and the Coolant Shut-Off Valve - N82- -C- from the vehicle.
– Clamp off the coolant hoses -D- and -E- (for example, using
the Hose Clamps - Up To 25 mm - 3094- ).
Note
If the coolant hose -E- (different versions) should be too short

to clamp, seal it, for example, using a sealing plug after dis‐
connecting.
This illustration shows the hoses on vehicle with a rear A/C

unit (without a parking or auxiliary heater).
– Mark the connector arrangement to the Coolant Recirculation
Pump - V50- -B- and to the Coolant Shut-Off Valve - N82-
-C-.
– Disconnect the connector from the coolant recirculation pump
-V50- and from the coolant shut-off valve -N82- .
– Detach the coolant hoses -D- (the coolant recirculation pump
-V50- ) and -E- (coolant supply from the engine) from the cool‐
ant shut-off valve -N82- -C-.
– Remove bolts -A- (tightening torque 6 Nm).
– Remove the coolant shut-off valve -N82- -C-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Note
With a discharged coolant circuit, the Coolant Recirculation

Pump - V50- -B- may only be operated only after the coolant
circuit has been charged. The dry-running of a new pump may
destroy it.
Since only a small amount of coolant flowed out of the coolant
♦
circuit when removing the coolant shut-off valve -N82- -C- as
described above, the coolant flows immediately into Coolant
Recirculation Pump - V50- after installing and removing the
hose clamps, and there is no danger of dry-running the pump.
– Connect the 2-pin connector to the Coolant Recirculation
Pump - V50- only after removing the hose clamps.
– Re-install the remaining removed components.
– Bleed the coolant circuit if necessary. Refer to
⇒ "7 Coolant Circuit, Bleeding", page 78
– Add coolant, if necessary. Refer to ⇒ Engine Mechanical;
Rep. Gr. 19 ; Coolant System .
