15.19.2 Fitting the piston
Prevent the risk of fire and explosion as a result of oxygen!
Compressed oxygen can quickly enrich the atmosphere with
oxygen and lead to fire or explosion of combustible substances.
 Make sure that oxygen is flowing away from the body when
1. Blow out the multistep flow selector assembly 233 with oxygen.
2. Insert the piston 226 into the multistep flow selector assembly 233.
3. Fit the spring for the piston 227

• Clamping device for cover assembly 417

Requirement
• The multistep flow selector assembly 233 has been removed
• The spring for the piston 227 has been removed
• The piston 226 has been removed
1. Use the Allen key to slightly loosen the threaded pin 212

Risk of injury from balls and springs springing out!
There are balls and springs underneath the multistep flow selector
that are under tension. They can spring out at the user or bystanders
and cause injury.
 Carefully remove the multistep flow selector.
2. Carefully remove the multistep flow selector 211.
